Origins Foundation Executive Director selected to serve as a primary member of the Department of the Interior’s federal advisory council.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Origins Foundation is proud to announce that its Executive Director, Dr. Robert “Robbie” Kroger, has been appointed as a primary member of the recently reestablished Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation and Access Council.
Representing wildlife-associated recreation interests, Kroger joins a distinguished group of leaders from America’s hunting, shooting sports, and wildlife conservation communities.
The federal advisory council provides recommendations to the U.S. government through the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture on wildlife and habitat conservation, hunting and shooting sports, strategic partnerships, and public access to hunting and shooting opportunities.
“Hunters and shooting sports enthusiasts have a long history of supporting wildlife conservation and responsible stewardship of our lands and waters,” said Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum. “This Council brings their experience directly to the table as we work to expand access, strengthen conservation and ensure America’s hunting and outdoor traditions continue for generations to come.”
As Executive Director of The Origins Foundation, Kroger has dedicated his work to strengthening the connection between hunters, wildlife conservation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. Through education, storytelling, research, and partnerships with conservation organizations, he works to ensure that the contributions hunters make to wildlife, habitat, and communities are understood and recognized.
“I am deeply honored to have been selected to serve on this council,” said Kroger. “Hunters have always played an essential role in wildlife conservation, and I believe it is our responsibility to ensure that tradition continues for generations to come. I look forward to working alongside fellow council members and federal leadership to advance conservation, protect access, and ensure that the voices of hunters are heard on both domestic and international fronts.”

The council’s work encompasses a broad range of issues, including wildlife and habitat management, public access to hunting and recreational shooting opportunities, collaboration with state wildlife agencies and conservation organizations, and encouraging participation among future generations of hunters.
Kroger’s appointment provides an important opportunity to bring the perspectives of hunters, The Origins Foundation, and its conservation partners into federal discussions about responsible stewardship and the future of America’s outdoor traditions.
