Location: Mozambique (Niassa Region)

Matondovela Village located in the center of the Niassa Special Reserve of northern Mozambique has no medical facilities due to its remote location. Previously, village residents would have to travel 110km one way on very poor dirt roads with large quantities of village animals to contend with to seek the most basic of medical care. Since 2024 MCF partnered with Mission Aviation Fellowship and Mozmed to provide monthly visits to this remote village to provide the 1200 local people living in possibly one of the remotest villages left in Africa today with a decent standard of medical care.

Qualified Dr’s from the Moz-Med program in Nampula fly out once a month with Mission Aviation Fellowship to this remote village on a pre designated date and any and all treatments are seen to on site. Those that require more complex treatments that cannot be tended to on site are flown back to Nampula treated and accommodated for the month and return the following month on the next incoming plane. This project is even more crucial now given everything that has occured in Niassa with insurgents.

This project funds the travel, time, and associated costs of the flying doctors program in Northern Mozambique.

2025 has been fully funded. The outcome was 7 total flights being completed!

2026 is open for funding!
